We're proud of our culture, growth and accomplishments over the last 6 decades. It's always reminding us that where we've been is just as important as where we're going.

1956
John Brewer Sr. purchases the Star Alliance Publishing Company in Grandville, MI. With only eight employees, the company services several local newspapers including the Standale Advertiser from a 4,000 sq. ft. building.

1987
GPC moves to 107,000 sq. ft. building. Along with the new location comes more staff and technology. Flying pasters are added to the web offset presses, dramatically increasing production capacity.

2004
GPC invests in digital printing technology by acquiring its first HP Indigo variable data press, along with building of a small team of data analysts and programmers to support the growing digital print strategy.

1968
Star Alliance Publishing becomes Grandville Printing and goes commercial. John Brewer purchases more web and sheetfed presses.

1992
Installation of Macintosh computer systems. Printing goes completely heatset, increasing print quality with higher line screens. Digital consoles are added to each press.

2008
GPC develops its proprietary shelf tag division under the moniker Nexgen. The Nexgen division provides data-driven in-store marketing for retailers of all sizes.

1973
GPC moves to a new location to support and increase in publication work. The 12,000 sq. ft. building houses over 100 employees working 3 shifts.

1997
Installation of first direct-to-plate system in Michigan. The time it takes to reach the press decreases and quality of the plates see a dramatic increase.

2013
Building expansion to house new print production areas, including new presses, equipment, technology upgrades and the addition of more IT staff and data programmers.

1975
GPC installs its first computer typesetter, bringing typesetting
in-house and shortening preparation time of camera ready art and copy by 50%.

2000
The addition of marketing, visual design, composition services, copywriting, and photography to become an all-in-one
service bureau.

2016
GPC awarded its sixth patent related to our Nexgen shelf tag innovation. US Patent No. 8011126, 8020765, 8613156, 8928923, 9213506, and 9547464.
